Today, The American Institute of Architects announced the winners of its 2021 Regional & Urban Design Awards, honoring five projects that epitomize the “best in urban design, regional and city planning, and community development,” according to an AIA press release. This year’s winners were Payette in Boston, SHoP Architects in New York, the University of Arkansas Community Design Center in Fayetteville, and the Omaha, Neb.–based firm HDR.
The jury for the 2021 Regional & Urban Design Awards comprised chair Mark Gardner, AIA, of Jaklitsch/Gardner Architects in New York; Lesley Bain, FAIA, of Framework in Seattle; Katie Horak of Architectural Resources Group in Los Angeles; John Smoley of the City of Minneapolis; and Dan Yudchitz, AIA, of Leo A Daly in Minneapolis.
