Project Description

Comprised of three separate buildings sitting on a single, elevated deck above a lake, the new Administration Building provided a much needed home for staff and volunteers. A single high roof over all three buildings and the deck further augments the visual connection.

This building showcases the Phoenix Zoo’s conservation efforts and is certified LEED Gold. LEED features include: solar panels providing 50 percent of the facility’s annual energy needs; using the lake as a temperature exchange system for the HVAC system; and the use of low VOC and FSC certified materials.
