Project Description

The values-based education imparted by GCU is the basis of the concept that has been developed for the 70,000 SF College of Arts and Science. The skills, knowledge and values that GCU imparts to their students is the essential structure on which the students will develop and flourish in the globalized world. The four-story structure is designed to blend into the developing modern campus fabric while embracing the Christian values and heritage. These form the foundation and structure for a new building, that must also reflect the modern, wildly growing expansion of the University and its diversity of programs. To build on this duality, the brick of the first floor and the concrete structure form the foundation of the building to be in concert with the vintage part of the campus. To reflect the fast-paced and changing face of modern development, metal paneled boxes, growing on the structure, help articulate the individual programs and flexibility found within. This flexibility will be required to grow the University’s individual program offerings.
