1948: Fraser Morrison born in Tain, Scotland; Morrison Construction founded by his father.

1956: RMJM founded in Edinburgh and London by Robert Matthew and Stirrat Johnson-Marshall.

1966: Hillier Architecture founded in Princeton, N.J., by J. Robert Hillier.

1974: Morrison Construction taken over by conglomerate; Peter Morrison born.

1989: Fraser and Gordon Morrison lead management buyout of Morrison Construction.

1999: Construction begs on Scottish Parliament building.

2000: Morrison Construction sold to AWG for £263 million.

2002: Falkirk Wheel opens; Sir Fraser and Peter Morrison back management buyout of RMJM.

2003: Sir Fraser Morrison sued by AWG for £130 million; Inquiry begs into Scottish Parliament delays and overruns.

2004: Scottish Parliament opens.

2005: Peter Morrison becomes CEO of RMJM; Scottish Parliament wins Stirling Prize.

2006: RMJM wins Gazprom competition.

2007: RMJM acquires Hillier Architecture for £30 million; Sir Fraser Morrison becomes CEO of RMJM Hillier.
