Firm Description
At Office e.g. (for example), we are interested in making stuff, reading stuff, and drawing stuff. Through these mediums, we propose examples of possible architectures.
Office for Example is led by Liz Gálvez. Liz is Mexican-American. She is a registered architect, directs Office e.g. and teaches as a Visiting Critic at the Rice School of Architecture. She holds an M.Arch from MIT and pursued her undergraduate studies in architecture and philosophy at ASU. Her work focuses on the interface between architecture, theory and environmentalism. Previously she taught at the University of Michigan’s Taubman College, where she was the 2018–19 William Muschenheim Fellow.
Liz has practiced at architecture firms in the United States and in Mexico, including Will Bruder Architects, NADAAA and Rojkind Arquitectos. Her writing has been published in Footprint, Pidgin, PLAT and POOL (forthcoming). The firm’s work has been exhibited at the Hohensalzburg Fortress in Austria, The University of Michigan, at the Space p11 Gallery in Chicago, and at the Farish Gallery at Rice University. In 2021, Office e.g. was awarded the Architectural League Prize.
