Solar Shingle Harnesses Sun Power

Dow Solar Solutions Dow Powerhouse Solar Shingle installs and performs like a standard asphalt shingle while drawing upon the sun’s power to offset a portion of a home’s energy use. The shingles are nailed on; there’s no on-roof wiring, minimal through-roof penetrations and no need for an electrician to be present during installation. Electrical connections can be made later. Shingles are installed against the flat roof deck rather than above-deck. The CIGS-based PV cells are incorporated by over-molding them with a polymer formulation.
