These kit homes make net-zero-energy living possible for the average homeowner.


SmartHomze is a collection of five panelized home kits that incorporate structural insulated panels and range in size from 560 to 1,700 square feet. Each kit includes materials for exterior walls, metal roofing, floors, a porch, siding, photovoltaic panels, HVAC (including a heat recovery ventilator), and windows and doors. The Brattleboro, Vt.-based company estimates the cost of construction at $150 per square foot excluding foundations, site work, and permits. smarthomze.com
