Save a Sample! Goes National with Recycling Drive

1 MIN READ

SpecSimple.com’s Save a Sample! recycling drive has expanded from its New York base to include four other cities on the Atlantic seaboard and in the Midwest. Now, design firms in Chicago, Philadelphia, New York, Washington, D.C., and Rochester, N.Y., can donate unused materials to the recycling drive. The collected materials, including fabrics, brochures, and finish cards, are donated to local design schools.

Supported by Knoll, AIA, ASID, IIDA, SMPS, and USGBC, Save A Sample! has collected more than 10 tons of materials and raised more than $50,000 in scholarships since its inception. Last year’s scholarships were distributed to the Art Institute, FIT, Kean University, New York Institute of Technology, Parsons The New School for Design, Pratt Institute, and the School of Visual Arts.

This year’s Save A Sample! runs from April 20-22, 2010.
