VIA, Steelcase

Workers looking for peace and quiet in an open office plan can find acoustical privacy with Steelcase‘s Vertical Intelligent Architect (V.I.A.) system, which will debut at NeoCon this June. The Michigan-based manufacturer’s mobile office shell has a rigid steelframework, interchangeable glass frames and solid skins, and seals at every door, skin, frame, and building connection.

Options for personalizing V.I.A. for each office environment abound: Choose slider doors, swing doors, solid skins (in painted steel, fabric-wrapped steel, and veneer), markerboard skins, LED lighting, integrated whiteboard skins, and more. The system, which has an STC rating from 42 to 50, accommodates a maximum ceiling height of 12′, while the horizontal skins can be sized up to 5′ by 10′, and the vertical skins 5′ by 10′, or 12′ when the width is 4′. V.I.A. is manufactured using a variable amount of recycled content and will be SCS Indoor Advantage Certified. steelcase.com
