Appliances like refrigerators, washers, dishwashers, and dryers are equipped with sustainability standards – but what about cooking appliances?
The Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) recently announced a new sustainability standard being developed in coordination with CSA Group and UL Environment. The cooking products will include convection, non-convection, and steam products such as ranges, built-in cook tops and ovens. These products will then be judged in five key areas: materials, manufacturing and operations, energy consumption during use, end-of-life, and innovation.
