Schr?der and Lumec Split

After 12 years, Belgian lighting manufacturer Schr?der and Canadian outdoor lighting manufacturer Lumec, a Genlyte company, have ended their North American partnership. According to a press release issued by Genlyte, ‘the transaction enables both companies to pursue strategic opportunities that were restricted by the Lumec-Schr?der joint venture.’ Genlyte has since acquired Schr?der’s minority interest, bringing its interest to 100 percent. Both companies will now operate separately as competitors, and Schr?der has launched a new North American company located in Montreal.
