Products Roundup From the Surfaces 2012 Show

1 MIN READ

Because a custom home has many surfaces on which an architect may apply a design eye, there is an entire show dedicated to them.

Surfaces 2012 is the floor covering industry’s annual extravaganza, but the three-day event offers more than just flooring. Held in conjunction with StonExpo/Marmomacc, the largest international stone show in the U.S., Surfaces is about wall cladding, stone, tiles, ceilings, and the accessories that go along with them. This year, we comb the show floor to find 13 high-end products that are sure to pique your curiosity.

For example, Architectural Systems exhibited its Eco-Dimensions product line, a 3-D wall panel that is made from pressed bamboo pulp; Warmup Inc., showcased its soon-to-be released touchscreen smart thermostat that learns from homeowners’ behavior; and Everitt & Schilling Co. offered two lines of wall tiles made from recycled barnwood and cabinet scraps.
