Osram Gifts LEDs to Brooklyn Redevelopment Project

1 MIN READ

A master plan to enhance the streetscape of downtown Brooklyn will include LED technology donated by Osram Sylvania. Initiated by the Atlantic Avenue Local Development Corporation (LDC), the ‘Lighting the Boulevard’ doorway lighting project will illuminate 150 residential and commercial doorways on Brooklyn’s Atlantic Avenue. The area currently suffers from gaps in pedestrian lighting and other underdeveloped amenities.

New York City-based lighting designer Leni Schwendinger is working with the LDC. According to Osram Sylvania, Schwendinger identified LED-based lighting as the best solution for the project, and will work with Osram and DesignPlan, a national fixture manufacturer, to develop a customized family of fixtures for the area.
