My Cork Kitchen Floor

1 MIN READ

It’s been a year and a half since my husband and I had our kitchen remodeled. We’re happy with the whole thing (it’s made a big difference in our quality of life) but the single best part about it is the cork flooring.

I had always wanted a cork floor for its looks, softness, and low environmental impact. But I didn’t know whether it would be durable and low-maintenance. Now that we’ve had it for a while, I can say that I would definitely choose it again. It’s held up well, feels good underfoot, and is very easy to clean.

Cork is also a perennial favorite of many architects, and it comes up frequently as a favorite material in our annual Architect’s Choice feature. For examples, click here, here, and here.
