Halio Smart-tinting Glass, Kinestral Technologies
A joint venture between Kinestral Technologies and AGC, Halio Smart-tinting Glass begins darkening within 15 seconds and reaches its ultimate tint in under three minutes. When clear, Halio delivers a visual light transmission value of 65% and a solar heat gain coefficient of 0.51. When tinted, it delivers a visual light transmission value of 2% and a solar heat gain coefficient of 0.09. The insulated glass panels come as large as 5′ by 10′, and can be tinted individually or in groups. While Halio can be integrated with building management and home automation systems, users can override the automation through the manufacturer’s desktop or a smartphone app, wall switches, voice assistants, and a wireless tint selector. Halio can also track and record users’ desired tints based on the weather, time of the day, and the sun’s position. kinestral.com
