Concrete is known as a utilitarian material, but in the right hands it can also be a thing of beauty. “You can create large continuous surfaces with the addition of any texture you want,” Matlock says. Low-maintenance and strong, concrete is also incredibly adaptable (it can be stamped, polished, or acid-etched). A polished installation is shown in this Matlock project.
