Elegant Erosion

Custom Crafted Sinks by Gore Design

1 MIN READ

Gore Design Co. has mastered the art of deception. The Tempe, Ariz.-based studio’s custom-made Erosion Sinks give off a look that suggests water from the faucet is wearing away the thick slab over time, creating a shallow canyon undulating upward from the drain. Reality proves that the form is a work of custom craftsmanship. The design is etched into engineered composite concrete, which uses a reactive sealant to guard against delamination or yellowing. Because the sinks are custom-made by commission, their elements—a floor- or wall-mounted version, the concrete’s size, shape, and color, the location of the plumbing entry, and the metrics of the erosion pattern, among others—vary by application.
