Can American Clay’s Zero-VOC Finish Save Energy?

1 MIN READ

During Greenbuild in Boston next week, American Clay is scheduled to unveil a new research program to find out if its no-VOC earth plaster finish saves energy in addition to its other eco-friendly properties. Following multiple reports from customers that the spray finish provides energy savings in buildings, American Clay is launching “Dynamic Solar,” an experiment to test the energy performance of structures with its coating versus identical structures sporting other finish types. The study will take place in Albuquerque, N.M., and is expected to last for at least a year.

American Clay also will be featuring its Enjarre no-VOC spray-on earth plaster at Greenbuild. A recent winner in EcoHome’s Editors’ Choice Awards, Enjarre offers a layers-deep look in a single pass and is durable, mold-resistant, and composed of environmentally friendly materials.

EcoHome will be following the study and will post results as they become available.
