Black Kaleidoscope, Jialun Xiong
A winner in the ICFF Studio competition, Black Kaleidoscope by Jialun Xiong, a recent graduate from the ArtCenter College of Design, in Pasadena, Calif., is a monochromatic furniture collection consisting of a lounge chair, a sofa, and a coffee table. The limited use of color enhances the juxtaposition of textures and materials used in each piece. Of particular interest, the sofa, which measures 76″ long, 30″ wide, and 30″ deep, incorporates seven materials: metal, ash wood, linen, wool, leather, suede, and calf hide.
