Whirlpoool. The latest Duet laundry pair is the manufacturer’s most efficient to date. The dryer includes the new Eco Normal cycle, a set of heat and moisture sensors that improve energy usage by 40%. The front-loading washing machine uses 74% less water and 80% less energy than a traditional top-loader, the company says. Its features include a 1,300-rpm spin speed; TumbleFresh, which tumbles waiting clothes periodically to reduce wrinkle and odor potential; and a NightQuiet mode that further reduces sound when needed. www.whirlpool.com. –K.T.
