New Online Tool

1 MIN READ

Both homeowners and builders can learn more about conserving water at home through a newly launched consumer website, Home Water Works. Developed by the Alliance for Water Efficiency (AWE), this valuable online resource offers water saving tips and information about every major water-using fixture and appliance found in homes today. It even includes an advanced household water calculator—a great tool to pass on to homeowners.

“A major concern in the Western World is how little awareness most consumers have about how much water they use,” says Mary Ann Dickinson, president and CEO of AWE. “The Home Water Works Web Site is our attempt to bridge that educational chasm by providing a fun way for the consumer to examine their own water consumption.”

According to Dickinson, builders can use the Home Water Works web site, as well as the more specific Alliance forWater Efficiency web site, for tips on installing more efficient household plumbing fixtures and appliances. She also says it’s a great way to share your knowledge with your potential buyers: “An informed consumer is a more engaged building customer.”
