Architect and water-feature specialist Jim Garland, founder of Los Angeles-based Fluidity Design Consultants, will present the first keynote on Friday morning October 12. Titled “The Second Best Thing,” Garland will discuss the firm’s work, an international portfolio of water-feature design projects. Glass and light artist Arlon Bayliss will deliver the closing keynote–“Play and Interplay”–on Saturday afternoon October 13. Bayliss, who trained at the Royal College of Art in London, will discuss his work, which features “…community-based, collaborative, outdoor works and large-scale interior architectural installations using dynamic forms and compositions in steel, glass and light.” Projects include “Beacon Bloom” in Carmel, Indiana and “Flight Wave” a dichroic glass sculpture at the Indianapolis International Airport.
