Montreal-based lighting manufacturer Luminis has been acquired by The Luminaires Group (TLG). TLG was established in 1987 and designs, manufactures, and distributes specification-grade lighting products throughout North America. It’s brands each focus on a different market sector; Eureka on contemporary decorative lighting, A-Light on architectural lighting, and Cyclone on outdoor area lighting.
For more than 30 years, Luminis has designed and manufactured specification-grade interior and exterior lighting for a variety of project applications such as parks, campuses, urban and commercial developments, offices, retail stores, and schools. With this range of product offerings, Luminis provides a portfolio complement for TLG’s current lineup. “The Luminaires Group acquisition of Luminis reinforces our commitment for strategic growth and innovation as we bring yet another established brand into The Luminaires Group’s family,” said Christian B. Fabi, president of TLG. Luminis will continue to operate as a standalone division from its Montreal location and the company will continue to be led and managed by Nicolas Cohen, current president and a founding member of Luminis. Cohen noted in a prepared statement, “We will continue to focus on our national and regional partners and customers in the commercial and institutional markets.” Just as the other divisions of TLG maintain their separate agent networks and distribution channels, so too will Luminis.
