Rosco Laboratories, founded in 1910 and headquartered in Stamford, Conn., is a leading global company “… in lighting and color technologies for the film, television, entertainment and architecture industries…” has announced the establishment of an architectural lighting division. “Rosco has been a part of the dramatic architectural lighting community for years”, said Edward Donohue, president of Rosco North America in a press release. “The addition of this division within Rosco demonstrates our commitment to this flourishing industry, and our interest in its continued growth.”

The new division will be led by Amé Strong, who has been promoted to vice president. Previously she was the company’s North American sales director. Strong joined Rosco in 2003 and has held a number of positions including managing the dichroics, color filters, and other permanent commercial light-shaping/control applications teams. In her new role she will develop new architectural lighting products, product line extensions, and investigate strategic acquisitions.

The goal of the new division is to support the architectural lighting design community “…in the creation, coloration and control of light in themed environments, new construction, retail and interior designs and hospitality–particularly via LED lighting products, effects projectors, dichroic and OPTI-FLECS filters, and control solutions for fluorescent and LED luminaires.”

In a press statement Strong noted, “I am thrilled to take on this new role at a pivotal moment of growth in Rosco’s history. … The creation of the Architectural Lighting division positions us to do exactly what our mission statement promises; lead with innovative solutions, allowing creative people to achieve their visions. I look forward to this division taking our products and service to the next level, in order to continue to best satisfy the needs of the architectural lighting community.”
