Parsons Announces New MFALD Program Director

The Department of Architecture, Interior Design, and Lighting at Parsons The New School for Design has announced the appointment of Derek Porter as the new director of the MFA program in Lighting Design.

As principal and founder of Derek Porter Studio, Architectural Lighting Design in Kansas City, Missouri, Porter has 16 years of professional practice experience ranging across project types. An accomplished practitioner, Porter has also been actively involved in academia; he teaches at the University of Kansas and is a member of the faculty at the Kansas Art Institute. The appointment is effective immediately.
