Today, the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) reported that September’s Electroindustry Business Conditions Index, a broad category that focuses on North American electrical industry manufacturers, fell for the second month. After a sharp rise to 67.5 in July, the index for current business conditions declined dramatically in August to 52.5 and decreased again in September, posting a score of 42.5.
The report is based on responses provided by panelists, senior managers at NEMA member companies, who predict current and future business conditions.
In the future, NEMA’s report indicates that 55 percent of panelists expect business conditions to remain unchanged in the coming six months. The remaining panelists were split on whether business conditions will improve or deteriorate.
