NEMA Releases High-Pressure Sodium Lamp Standard

1 MIN READ

The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) has published ANSI_ANSLG C78.42-2007 “American National Standard for Electric Lamps-High Pressure Sodium Lamps” on behalf of the American National Standard Lighting Group (ANSLG). The edition includes revisions to section 2.1 of the 70-watt S62 lamp and section 2.1 of the 100-watt S54 lamp. The standard sets forth the physical and electrical requirements for high-pressure sodium lamps to ensure performance and interchangeability, provides the basis for the electrical requirements for ballasts and ignitors, and lamp-related requirements for luminaires.

The new standard can be downloaded free of charge from www.nema.org/stds/c78-42.cfm#download; a hardcopy also may be ordered for $260.
