Lighting manufacturers around the world are preparing for the biennial Light + Building tradeshow, which will be held in Frankfurt, Germany, from March 13 to 18. Products and technology on display will span decorative luminaires to retail lighting systems to the latest in LEDs, drivers, lamps, and more. Architectural Lighting checked in with a few manufacturers that will be exhibiting at the event to learn what products they’ll be showcasing. Here, we’re highlighting a few of the latest components and fixtures from Osram to be on view at the show.

The Munich-based lighting manufacturer will showcase its wares this year under the tagline “Smart City.” Its Osram Opto Semiconductors brand will present nearly 100 new general illumination products announced over the past nine months. Those include low, mid, high, and ultra-high power LEDs (below).

The company will also display a 2015 introduction, the dome-shaped Omnipoint flexible ceiling luminaire (top image), which is fitted with 61 LEDs. A companion app allows users to readily adjust the lighting direction and scene. Up to eight Omnipoint fixtures can be operated together using Wi-Fi with DMX512 protocol.

With an 11mm profile, Osram’s new ultraflat system gives luminaire manufacturers more flexibility in their design. Comprising an Optotronic LED driver (above) and motion and daylight sensors, the system is intended for use in a pendant, recessed, and other fixture types for commercial, educational, and hospitality applications.
