Inter-lux Appoints New COO

Industry workflow expert Amir Bagherlee joins the company.

Lighting manufacturer Inter-lux has announced an addition to its leadership team with the appointment of a new chief operating officer, Amir Bagherlee. As COO, Bagherlee’s area of expertise is “…workflow and organizational process development” and in his new role he “…will be responsible for all operations of the business from order entry through manufacturing and finance.”

A graduate the University Of Wisconsin School Of Engineering, Bagherlee went on to earn his Business Management Certificate from New York University. He started his professional career in the lighting industry in 1988 as a manufacturing engineer. Prior to joining Inter-lux, Bagherlee spent 20 year at Louis Poulsen, and most recently served as Vice President of Operations and Engineering. In 2017, he launched his own consulting firm, working with companies “…to provide guidance for streamlining their sales, manufacturing, distribution, supply chain, engineering and customer service functions.”

In a prepared statement Bagherlee said, “I am truly excited to be a part of the Inter-lux team during this dynamic period in its history. I believe that my focus on people, processes and products will continue to raise the bar of extraordinary service and quality that are the cornerstones of Inter-lux. ”

On Bagherlee’s joining the company’s executive team, Inter-lux’s Chief Operating Officer, Mark DeVries, said, “Knowing Amir for over 20 years has been both a professional and a personal privilege. He is a team builder and a believer in the philosophy of ‘people first and the rest will follow.’ Having Amir on the Inter-lux team will be a pleasure and another step forward in our growth.”

In 2017, Architectural Lighting was a Top Ten Finalist for Magazine of the Year from the American Society of Business Publication Editors' AZBEE Awards. In 2016, Donoff received the Jesse H. Neal Award for her Editor’s Comments in the category of Best Commentary/Blog, and in 2015, AL received a Jesse H. Neal Award for Best Media Brand (Overall Editorial Excellence).Prior to her entry into design journalism, Donoff worked in New York City architectural offices including FXFowle where she was part of the project teams for the Reuters Building at Three Times Square and the New York Times Headquarters. She is a graduate of Bates College in Lewiston, Me., and she earned her Master of Architecture degree from the School of Architecture at Washington University in St. Louis.
