1 MIN READ

The Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and The Cooper Union College of Science and Art in New York, through its continuing education department, have created an online course titled “ Daylighting and Codes.” Developed and presented by lighting designer Matthew Tanteri of Tanteri + Associates, the three-part class examines “how daylighting related provisions of model energy codes are being refined to capture the total impact of daylight on whole building energy reduction.” While the class is open to anyone interested in the topic of daylighting, some background with the subject matter is recommended.
The course outline is as follows:
Part 1: Codes and the Path to Net Zero, Feb. 25, 1-2 p.m. EST
Part 2: Daylighting Provisions of National Model Energy Codes – to be completed by participants in advance of third class
Part 3: Daylighting Provisions of State and City Codes (New York edition), March 11, 1-2p.m.
Course fee is $250 and registration, which must be completed by Feb. 23, is through the Cooper Union website. CEU credits are available.
