As it celebrates its 30th anniversary year, Amerlux has opened a new 200,000 square foot headquarters in Oakland, N.J., which brings together corporate offices and east coast manufacturing and distribution facilities. This will allow the company, known for its luminaire lines for the retail, supermarket, hospitality, and commercial sectors, to increase its staffing by 40% and allow for 250 employees to work across multiple shifts over the course of the work week.

“As sales continue to grow by more than 20 percent during the past five years, this facility, along with our new planned facility in Pearland, Tx., demonstrate our commitment to delivering innovation in commercial lighting for industry professionals that rely on our support and a seamless supply chain of superior luminaires to generate substantial future growth,” said Amerlux Chairman Frank P. Diassi in a prepared statement.

Amerlux employs Lean Manufacturing Principles that allow the company to adapt quickly to technology changes and fluctuations in the market. This has led to reduced waste, shorter lead times, and more efficient inventory control. The company has also implemented a stock program for standard product offerings that ship in less than five days.

“Our new home consolidates all materials, equipment and personnel that were previously housed across several sites in New Jersey, and provides the space and capabilities needed to accommodate our rapid growth,” said Amerlux CEO and President Chuck Campagna in a press statement. “As we advance our domestic and international channels for interior and exterior lighting, this facility underscores our commitment to high quality American manufacturing and benefits customers with quicker lead times, high quality products, additional production capabilities, and expanded technology development.”

The headquarters, which is located at 178 Bauer Drive, features new testing labs, automated custom powder coating operations, as well as a product showroom and facilities for product training and continuing education sessions.
