A seniors-only community in Bradenton, Fla., has received LEED for Homes Platinum certification.

Mirabella will have 160 attached homes upon completion and will offer sleek, modern home designs in an open floor plan concept. The homes by Koral & Gobuty Development will range in price from the mid $200s to the mid $300s.

Dennis Stroer, the project’s green rater, told 55Places.com that he doesn’t know of any other residential developments in Florida that offer LEED Platinum certification on such a large scale.

“Mirabella is setting a new standard for energy efficiency in residential development that is challenging the status quo,” he said.
