Mbdc, Charlottesville, Va., has awarded cradle to cradle certification(www.c2ccertified.com) at the Silver level to Moon Township, Pa.-based CENTRIA’s Formawall Graphix Series metal wall panels, Concept Series concealed fastener panels, IW Series concealed fastener panels, Profile Series exposed fastener panels, Versapanel insulated metal composite panels and Structural Standing Seam Roof Systems.

In addition, Albuquerque, N.M.-based American PolySteel’s complete line of insulating concrete forms have earned Silver certification under Cradle to Cradle. PolySteel PS3000 Waffle Grid ICFs, PS4000 Flat Wall ICFs and PolyPro KD Flat Wall ICFs are the first ICFs to achieve this recognition.

Cradle to Cradle certification evaluates a material or product’s ingredients and the complete formulation for human and environmental health impacts through a product’s life cycle. Achieving certification requires success in multiple areas: use of environmentally safe and healthy materials; product design for material reuse, like recycling or composting; use of renewable energy and energy efficiency; efficient use of water and maximum water quality associated with production; and company strategies for social responsibility.
