Architects are invited to present sustainable solutions for a multifamily mid-rise to be built in New Orleans. Launched by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and sponsored by Autodesk, entrants should submit a four-to-six-story mixed-use complex that will occupy a full city block. The winning design also will incorporate at least the shell of the existing 40,000-square-foot elementary school located on the site.

Entries must adhere to the Platinum level guidelines of the LEED for Homes Multifamily Midrise Rating System. Designs also should incorporate severe storm resistance, climate-appropriate landscape design, and a plan for educating residents on sustainable living. Projects must be submitted by Aug. 1. The winner will be announced at the USGBC’s annual Residential Summit held during the Greenbuild Conference from Oct. 4–7 in Toronto. Click here to enter.
