Allsteel’s Stride is Cradle-to-Cradle certified

1 MIN READ

The Cradle-to-Cradle-certified Stride office system is made from steel, lead-free aluminum, formaldehyde-free wheatboard particle board, and plastics such as ABS, nylon, and polyester. Forty-six percent of the material contains recycled content; more than 90 percent of it is recyclable. Produced on the Design for the Environment framework, Stride’s work surfaces, storage, and space divisions use locally grown resources and reverse osmosis-filtered water. They also offset energy use, helping the system achieve up to 16 LEED credits. www.allsteeloffice.com; 888.255.7833.

The Stride line of office furniture from Allsteel is designed to be adapted and adjusted to any work environment and to individual needs and preferences. On the sustainability front, all of the energy used in production of the furniture was offset by the purchase of renewable energy certificates. Nearly all of the materials used contain recycled content, the entire panel selection is Cradle to Cradle Silver certified, the panels offer an alternative to particleboard and are made of agricultural fibers. The company also has reuse and recycle programs in place to repurpose furniture that has reached the end of its useful life. www.allsteeloffice.com
