Wildcat was named for “Wildcat Drilling” an exploratory drilling method that is analogous to this venture capitalist firm’s approach to business. Behind the reception desk, an abstract of a pump jack serves as an introduction to client’s ethos. In their new space in San Mateo, Wildcat wanted to create flexible space for entertaining clients, similar to what they had in their previous office. Upon entering the space, a nearby seating area provides a comfortable place for clients to wait, as well as added space for entertaining. Hoping to achieve a buttoned-down tech space feel, warm neutrals and blues were used to create a bright and inviting space for creativity and socializing. The program included mostly offices and some administrative open offices, and a private area to serve as incubation space for potential investments.
