Project Description

di Domenico + Partners led the design of a renovation and 27,000 SF of additions to the existing Trenton Rail Complex, aimed to both improve circulation and commuter comfort and transform the facility into a civic landmark worthy of a State capital. Facility upgrades included larger waiting areas, new retail spaces, accessible restrooms and a new plaza that will facilitate pedestrian flow to bus and light rail connections. The complex utilizes sustainable materials, provides civic works of arts in transit, with a renewed focus to downtown Trenton. The NJ Transit system is a major reason New Jersey’s economy is among the strongest in the nation — the new Trenton Complex reinforces Trenton’s status as a major transportation hub.
