Project Description
Clients desperately wanted an updated bathroom that offered a hotel feeling and more storage. Their current bathroom was outdated and offered little storage, the couple was literally growing out of their master bathroom. The work-scope was to design, gut, and remodel the bathroom. The couple mutually agreed to design the room in a Luxe fashion with a hint of masculinity. The first challenge was budget which did not allow for changing out the window to gain more wall space nor did it allow to extend into the master bedroom. The unusual octagon shape limited our space for anything to come to far out into the area where you entered from double doors. We designed to fit as much as we could neatly into the new space. For this we used a pantry style cabinet behind the door for linen closet. Being behind the door kept this matching linen closet out of site out of mind as to not take away from the beauty of the room with the doors opened. The vanity was easy to upgrade to make more storage as the old vanity was built lacking storage features and rather built with a makeup area feature. Since we were keeping the window in place to save on cost we could not make the shower too much bigger. What we did introduce was a freestanding tub. It offered the illusion of more room in the bathroom and gave us more room for the linen closet we added. The project created a very happy client. The transformation into a luxury bathroom was more than what they had hoped for and even joked they wanted to throw a party in their bathroom. We gave the couple so much storage that a few shelves and drawers were left empty once they moved back into the bathroom. The use of glass tiles strategically placed in the shower made a beautiful focal point through the open double doors. The chandelier hanging from the vaulted ceilings filled the space nicely as well. A bathroom they once hated to use is now a bathroom they do not want to leave. Out of date and out of room, that was how anyone would describe this master bath. The homeowners wanted an elegant bathroom that had lots of storage but didn't "look like a storage room." You can decorate a space with the materials you choose then bling them with your decor after the remodel. We went for the elegant move in look with lots of storage camouflaged into the cabinets. When you enter you are focused on the beautiful glass tile, unique luxe style chandelier, and the crafted vanity area. A bathroom you love to come home to.
