Project Description
Once a Walmart Super Center, The Preserve at 620 transforms this abandoned big box retailer into a thriving creative office just over 200,000 sf. The design of this adaptive re-use project takes advantage of all design opportunities represented by the existing structure.
The existing concrete block walls carry a clean white perforated paneling system over its façade. The existing limestone on the center was brought down to a pedestrian level to be used as benches and other landscape features. To create a sense of place and entry, 3 tenant entries were designed to engage with façade to create a contrast between the clean white panels and the warmth of the entries.
The new creative office houses a rich amenity feel throughout its design bringing its users to together. One of the main amenity features are 2 Courtyards that were carved out of the existing retail center. These Courtyards expose its existing structure to fill the space with natural light creating an oasis from its adjacent office space. Other amenities giving life to this office are a transformed oil changing station to a Fitness Center with lockers, Putting Green, Basketball Court, Dog Run, and Landscape seating and areas. The backside of the center transforms the existing loading docks into a new 2-Story Office with Mezzanine and viewing terrace and pocket park, both taking advantage to beautiful views towards the east.
