Project Description

The Northwest School is a 500-student college preparatory boarding and day school for grades 6-12 with a strong emphasis on the arts and humanities. The new 401 East Pike building is a catalyst project for the school’s urban Seattle campus, as it consolidates diverse programs that were previously distributed across the Capitol Hill neighborhood and enriches the school’s interdisciplinary program. The 38,300 sf facility houses a 175-seat black box theater, a two-tiered dining hall/study area, a league-size gymnasium and a 6,000 sf rooftop sports field with views of the Olympic mountains and historic rooftops.
