Project Description
This new 18-unit luxury apartment is located at the edge of Lyon Park, a well-established and desirable single family neighborhood in Arlington, Virginia and a short walk to Clarendon, a high-density, transit-oriented, mixed-use community. A site organization and massing strategy was devised to acknowledge the transitional nature of the site and respond appropriately to the varied context. The façade facing the single-family neighborhood breaks down into house-like forms conducive to the porous residential street. The material palette is a mix of the familiar (brick and wood) and the modern (metal and glass) assembled in a contemporary manner.
