Project Description
The design of Standard Style centers around its signature ceiling and the layout responds to the quality of the space created by this design move. The client desired an elegant and striking environment that would stand in sharp contrast to its men’s counterpart next door. The colors and lines of the architecture are soft and feminine to reflect the women’s clothing carried within.
The ceiling form was pulled away from the walls in an effort to maintain a light, scarf-like feel. This detail was achieved through a combination of metal stud framing and an aircraft cable suspension system. The structure was then covered with a level five gypsum board finish.
