Project Description
In need of a pediatric emergency department separate from the adult ED, Ascension St. John teamed with HED to create a fun yet private space that would speak to the young patients and their family members. The program includes three dedicated pediatric behavioral health exam rooms, two trauma rooms, a covered ambulance drop-off, and a centralized provider workspace with sightlines to the majority of the examination rooms. In total, the 6,900 SF renovation adapted thirteen treatment rooms onto an open “race-track” style patient and staff flow concept.
