Project Description

One of the largest building-material manufacturers and suppliers in the world, Saint-Gobain, along with its North American subsidiary CertainTeed, recently debuted a new North American headquarters in Malvern, Pa. The 320,000-square-foot facility sits on a 65-acre campus and is home to more than 800 employees across Saint-Gobain and CertainTeed. The new headquarters features open-plan office space, collaborative work areas, a cafeteria, gym, an outdoor pond and fountain, and walking trails. The company incorporated 40 of its own products—eight exterior and 32 interior—into the design, including 17,000 square feet of zoned electrochromic glazing from its SageGlass brand on the building’s façade.

The building is pursuing the following certifications: the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED v3 Platinum for commercial interiors and LEED v3 Platinum for core and shell, as well as the Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star program.

The project’s completion coincided with Saint-Gobain’s 350th anniversary in 2015.
