Project Description
The new Red Velvet Cupcakery in Reston Town Center will establish the personality and flavor of all future stores. The design develops a clear distinction between the customer area, which is colorful and textured, and the kitchen/prep area, which is white and hygienic. The floor and ceiling of the customer area create a rich, three-dimensional frame for the operation of making cupcakes. The multi-layered red ceiling functions as a sort of “icing;” for the space, stepping down from front to back and creating a backdrop for the activities of the store. Signage and graphics are incorporated seamlessly into the design, establishing an integrated visual identity.
