Project Description
Proteostasis Therapeutics is a biopharmaceutical company discovering and developing novel, small molecule therapeutics designed to treat diseases caused by an imbalance in the Proteostasis Network.
We have recently designed new facilities for Proteostasis at Boston Landing. The 29,836 RSF office and lab space is on the 5th floor. Arriving in the elevator lobby one immediately experiences an open feeling with views to the exterior through to the reception area and board room which were conceived as a single space. The scheme was developed to take the most advantage of natural light and views, by placing all the open office work areas and the main break room along the large south facing 12 foot high windows. Demountable glass partitions underscore the sense of openness while maximizing acoustical privacy.
The color scheme borrows from the company’s corporate identity with blue, purple and burgundy accent colors contrasted with neutral gray flooring and walls. A variety of work areas support different work styles including 120 open plan work stations, huddle rooms and breakout areas. A kitchen/lounge area with several styles of seating serves small group meetings and company-wide gatherings. The lab areas include biology, freezer farm, microscope room, and two tissue culture labs. The large, north-facing lab offers sweeping views of the surrounding neighborhoods.
