Project Description
Envisioned as an iconic regional cultural arts center located within a transforming suburban context, the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts provides a multi-use venue for performing and visual arts, cultural and community events, and arts education. Situated on a prominent, yet irregularly shaped site, the organic expression of The Reser weaves together the new urban context and natural setting of Beaverton Creek. The art gallery, experimental performance lab, and lobby activate Crescent Street, a site for art festivals, with a glass-enclosed lobby that opens to the Arts Plaza and Beaverton Creek. The lobby and 550-seat multipurpose theater are comprised of interwoven and layered wood panels and sticks, drawing inspiration from the enveloping structure of a beaver dam.
