Project Description

Pulp Studio and CetraRuddy have a long history of collaboration and their most recent project, Oskar in Manhattan is garnering a lot of attention. The 183,000 sq-ft building was designed to provide sanctuary for its inhabitants – even in the bustling, eclectic Hell’s Kitchen area of Midtown Manhattan. The building is a mix of studios, one and two bedroom apartments and a first-floor retail space. Its unusual name was a nod to Oskar Brecker, the late partner from developer The Moinian Group, who championed the project early on.

Pulp Studio designed and produced the artistic, eye-catching angled and curvilinear glass patterns for the building, providing a visual lightness to the accompanying terracotta rainscreen and metal cladding. The glass used is high-performance Guardian SN68; a Super-Neutral solution which lets in high amounts of natural light while preventing heat gain.
