Project Description
Designed by global architecture, design and planning firm HLW, OPEN is a mixed-use public space located at 300 N. Pacific Coast Highway in El Segundo, California.
OPEN is an office park development with three existing three-story office buildings located on a podium deck with parking below. HLW’s Los Angeles studio was asked to redesign the main courtyard, building interior courtyards, add a new coffee kiosk to the main courtyard, and reprogram a former café space into a tenant lounge located below the main podium.
The complete re-design of main courtyards included replanting of existing areas, the addition of new landscape planting areas, the in-fill of five light wells for new trees and numerous built-in seating areas with a new central trellis and cactus garden. The main courtyard included new lighting and the overall development was rebranded with new signage and graphics throughout.
