Project Description

Situated in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood in the heart of McLean, this modern, vacation style home enjoys close proximity to Washington D.C. and all the exciting amenities in the surrounding area, including Tyson’s Corner.

The home sits at the top of a large, elevated lot, affording both privacy and natural views. Further, our design takes advantage of the unique contours of the site by offering both a lower level walk-out that leads to a stunning outdoor patio. Spread throughout three levels, the home contains five bedrooms, six full bathrooms, one half-bath, a three-car garage and measures just over 8,700 square feet.

The main level features an open-floor plan, expressly designed to entertain family and friends. The entrance flows elegantly into the grand dining room, kitchen, and double-height great room that opens to an impressive covered deck. The left wing of the home is dedicated to a private master suite with custom his/her walk-in closet, a master bath with a rain head shower and a free-standing soaking tub with his/her vanities, as well as a large home office.

The upper level of this modern home design features three generously sized en-suite bedrooms, a full-size laundry room and plenty of storage space.

The lower level of this modern home design offers an en-suite guest bedroom with a full bath, walk-in closet and access to outdoors. It includes an expansive recreation room and a beautiful glass-enclosed wine cellar. Also on the lower level is a full exercise room and a full bath that has direct access to the outdoor patio.

The materials we used for our modern home design are of the highest quality brands. We wanted to hand-select materials that would last for years to come, require little to no maintenance, and compliment the modern aesthetic of the home. The home features aluminum-clad oversized windows, Nichiha rectangular siding, and brick with a pastel finish; all brought together under a Mediterranean style hip roof.

Overall, we wanted to create a modern home design that feels like a retreat but still offers the required amenities a family needs to keep up with the fast pace of Northern Virginia.
